Never Jumped out of a plane? consider doing your first jump in South Africa. With a favourable exchange rate, you'll find it a lot cheaper than in other countries. You could choose between a standard static line jump or a tandem jump, where you are tied to an instructor who makes all the decisions for you. Then there's the scenery. Even if it's your first jump and you think you'll have your eyes closed the whole time, don't worry, you will see the view. Many of South Africa's drop zones are in pretty locations and, hey, here's a bonus: do a tandem (or single) jump in Cape Town and get a pic of yourself hurtling earthwards in front of Table Mountain. That wouldn't look bad on your desk (or desktop) when you get back to the office. |

At a staggering 216m, Bloukrans is the highest commercially operating bungee in the world, as verified by the Guinness Book of Records. The setting is breathtaking – even before you get up onto the bridge with a bungee strapped to your ankles! Right in the heart of the Tsitsikama Forest, 40 km from Plettenberg Bay, you will find the highest single span arch bridge in the world. The ultimate thrill, most people come to Bloukrans to bungee off the bridge. You are secured in a full body harness and then proceed along a specially designed catwalk suspended beneath the road surface of the bridge. This takes you to the pinnacle of the arch, 216 meters above the Bloukrans River. You will be given specific instructions and while loud music plays to get you revved up you will be walked to the edge and wait for your countdown. You will not be pushed, but you will propel yourself off the bridge and fly headfirst towards the river far below. At which point you will need to change your underpants. Because Bloukrans uses pendulum bungee technology, you will experience the smoothest, most comfortable jump possible. This activity is especially popular with lemmings. |

A big breakfast is prepared back in camp and then there is time to unwind and siesta during the heat of the day. After lunch is served it is time to head out again. The afternoon activity is a walk/ drive combination, looking for tracks and activity in other areas. After the walk we drive to a beautiful spot in the Reserve, where we'll have sundowners while waiting for a stunning African Sunset. As the diurnal animals and birds anxiously get ready for bed, the stage and sounds change and a whole new world awakens. This is when we connect the spotlight and night drive back to camp, looking for the nocturnal creatures that are so rarely seen during the day. Back in camp a hearty supper and a warm campfire will be waiting for you. After a long day in the bush there is nothing more rewarding then to sneak off to bed and listen to the sounds of the night under a blanket of the overwhelming African stars! The great white shark, Carcharodon carcharias, also known as white pointer, white shark, or white death and JAWS. Get up close and personal with these magnificent creatures and learn about them. You can either cage dive (no scuba qualifications necessary) or watch from the boat. The trips are conducted with the now legendary Shark Man, Mike Rutzen who is insane enough to freedive with them. He is the only licensed person in the world allowed to take people to sit onto of the cage (if you dare). Please note, we are firm believers in conservation, we do not feed the sharks or “Chum” the water and the company we use is at the forefront of scientific research ,spear heading protection for the great white.
